Computer and online gamers come in a variety of shapes and sizes.
Everyone knows a gamer, whether it's your best buddy, your hermit neighbor, the man down the road in the large mansion, your mother, or your grandmother. But do you have any idea what kind of gamer they are?
This essay will aim to define the various categories of gamers so that you may appropriately identify them the next time you meet them.
Casual Gamer
A casual gamer is someone who has a limited interest in gaming, prefers simpler methods of play, and does not spend hours at a time on a single game. Casual gamers are mostly ladies who prefer interactive games like those in which you may guide a character through a virtual world or control them directly with motion sensors.
Hardcore Gamers
Hardcore gamers spend a lot of time on each game, honing their style of play. They choose games that need a lot of user interaction and take a long time to complete in-game goals like achievements and missions. When it comes to online gaming, many hardcore gamers have a competitive mindset, with each player attempting to outperform their opponents and achieve positions in online leagues and contests.
Newbie / Noob
A noob is a slang phrase for someone who is new to gaming, a specific game, or a significantly worse or amateur gamer. In games, it's frequently used as an insult: "Look at that novice, he has no idea what he's doing!"
Pro Gamers
Professional gamers play video games for money, and some even do it full-time, earning enormous sums of money by winning competitions. Pro gamers are the most dedicated of hardcore gamers, usually specializing in a single game or series of games. Competitions and endorsements from electronics and gaming businesses can make pro gamers more than $150,000 per year. Professional gaming is a significant business in South Korea and Japan, where events are broadcast live to hundreds of thousands of viewers.
Retro Gamer
Retro gaming is making a big comeback. People feel nostalgic for the original and addicting games they played as a kid or a teen and want to recapture some of those memories. Many ancient console emulators are now available online, allowing retro gamers to download and play their favorite old-school games on their modern computer systems. Along with emulators, many people are digging out their old consoles from the attic and reverting to the way games were played in the past.
There are many subgroups of each type of gamer, so this list isn't thorough, but maybe it will help you recognize the gamer type in each of your pals.
